BEAUTY FAVES 2015 pt. 2

It's no secret if you read my blog that I adore all things makeup and beauty. I just have this crazy habit of picking something up just about everytime I go to the mall, Target, or the drugstore. It's a nasty habit and one I should most definitely break. No lie, I have a bin chock full of goodies that were so/so that I'm handing out to my mom and friends. Oh well, my loss... their gain, right?!?

So, if you happened to be visiting the blog a few weeks ago, you might have noticed that I wrote out this massively long post containing my absolute favourite high-end beauty items. Those are my go-to, must have, everyday items! But, I do have a nice little assortment of goodies from the high street that I happen to like as well. I wouldn't say that I use them on a daily basis, but these items do tend to pop up frequently on the days or nights that I'm actually getting ready to go somewhere that isn't the supermarket. Oh, and in case, you missed the ode to these little beauties, you can check out the post right here. ;)

Without further ado, I give you part two of my favourite 2015 beauty products!

Okay, so there is this little thing that I bought a few months ago called the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette. You might have heard of it... it's the product that ever makeup girl worth her salt wants or has. The only downside to it is that it's kinda up there on the price range for what you get. Oh, and did I mention the price?!? At $60 I have this awful fear of dropping it while on one of our many mini vacas and being out the money due to the fragility of the powders. No joke, on the box it actually reminds you this. Thank goodness elf has stepped up their game and given us a straight up dupe with their Illuminating Palette. I'm not going to get into it much as I will be getting up a full review next week comparing the two, but I will leave you with this- at $6 it is my top drugstore makeup product of the year!

I'm not a huge eyeliner girl as I simply don't have the time to painstakingly apply it on a daily basis. But, when I do I always reach for the Maybelline gel liner. I really don't think there is much of a difference between high-end eyeliner and drug store ones. They all have the same ingredients and seem to work the same way. That's not to say that I haven't purchased pricier options, but they didn't wow me any more than their lower price point sisters. So, if you're looking for a great eyeliner that's easy to remove and easy to apply, you can't do better than the Maybelline.

With a six-month-old, I definitely have some dark circles on the days that I forget to use my eye cream. For me, I love the NYX dark circle corrector. It works beautifully and covers those babies up quicker than my son can cry for his bottle. If you like an option that isn't quite as heavy try the Pixi Corrector Concentrate. I would have included it, but I ran out and haven't purchased a new one.

Speaking of correctors, I also go through concealer like I go through K-Cups. No lie, I truly feel like I'm purchasing a new concealer every time I go to the store. My number one top pick for high street concealer is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer. No lie, this covers up better than the plot of Making a Murderer. My only issue with this concealer is that there is a definite lack of colour options, especially when compared to its high-end counterpart- NARS Creamy Radiance. But, I have found that the fair shade is a pretty good match for me. This concealer is not heavy, doesn't oxidize or move, and has a beautiful natural finish.

If you are a follower you may have read this little post I wrote not too long ago on disappointing beauty products. In it, I raved about the NYX brow products. This little beauty here, the NYX Tinted Brow Mascara is one of the one's that I adore. I have fair and sparse brows. I'm hard to colour match and anything too much looks totally whack! When I purchased this product, I immediately fell in love. The colour is a spot on match for my brows. I can apply this in the morning and have gorgeously groomed brows all day long. I want to say that I am on my third purchase of this. Honestly, I can say that this product will be my go-to brow product for the indefinite future.

Recently I have become a fan of darker wine coloured lipsticks. They are stunning, they last all day, they look great against my fair skin. Yeah, so in love with wine and berry lip products. The only downfall is that they stain my lips like a mother and as a mother, I don't want the colour to stick around after I wipe it off to kiss the little guy on his sweet cheeks! This is where the ELF lip remover swoops in and saves the day. You just pop off the lid, give your lips a quick swipe, leave it on for 30 seconds and wipe it off. Bam! Lipstick is gone and your lips feel super soft and smell amazing! I want to say that this product has jojoba oil in and I think that's the secret ingredient. This stuff rocks and I know always carry a tube of it in my makeup bag as well as my purse. It definitely comes in handy when hitting up Sephora and trying all those new gorgeous liquid lippies!

On the days that I don't have time to sit there and fudge with brushes to get my eyeshadow looking fab, I turn to cream shadows. I'm not always a huge fan of elf shadows {I adore my Prism Palette} but they do make a pretty good, inexpensive cream shadow. My absolute favourite from their Lustrous shadows is toast. It's a stunning gold colour that looks good on everyone. It's easy peasy to apply, is buildable, and has a wonderful colour payoff! For $3 you really can't beat it!

When it comes to drugstore lippies, the Kate Moss for Rimmel collections is always good to pick up! They are richly pigmented, are long lasting, and non-drying. For a few dollars, these are always worth trying out!

As always, thank you for reading and I will see you soon darlings!
