Sonia Kashuk Eye Couture Eyes on Neutral Palette

No lie, I honestly believe that my Urban Decay Naked Basics 1 and 2 palettes got busy and had a menage a trois with my the Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude palette and what resulted was the Sonia Kashuk Eye Couture Eyes on Neutral 02 Palette. It is, in my opinion, one of the absolute best matte eyeshadow palettes you can buy- high end and low end.

You know, dolls, I don't even know where to begin to talk about this palette. Normally I have a pretty good list that I like to go through and describe in detail, but with this palette, I'm just kinda sitting here like.... "how can I get across just how much I love this without sounding like a nitwit who's had too much coffee?"! We've all had those moments and today is definitely one of them. I think that today we will go for more of a photo heavy post with a nice pros and cons (if I can think of any) list at the end. Right! Let's get to it!

I have had this palette for around two months and I have used it almost every single day! The only exception to that being a few days where I looked extremely tired and used Half-Baked from the original Naked Palette to bring some extra light to my eyes.

These shadows are rich and creamy, highly pigmented, stay put without a primer (who has the time for that everyday?!?), and blend like a dream! I have found that with a lot of drugstore shadows, they can be quite chalky and leave a bit to be desired in pigment and staying power. But this palette knock all the issues previously found in drugstore shadows out of the water.

The colour range is amazing in this palette. It's jam packed with spot on nudes that can act as a base, highlight, or obliterator of purple veins and redness. A super big thumbs up for having nudes that really work well with different skin tones! There's a wide selection of cool and warm tone shades that create a multitude of eye looks ranging from a more natural no-makeup/makeup look to a dark smoky look. Oh, and there is a gorgeous khaki green on the bottom row that is nothing short of amazing. I have found green mattes to be pretty much a no-show in all palettes, so finding one in theis palette is a total bonus.

When it comes to con's there really isn't much to say., but lets see what we can come up with.

The palette currently retails for $20 at Target so it is a bit more expensive for the drugstore, especially when competing with the $10 Maybelline and $12 Cover Girl nude palettes.

Another drawback is that it can be hard to find in store. I went three separate times to purchase this palette and it was sold out each time. When I was finally able to pick one up, they only had one in stock in store. So, you might have to order it from Target's website to make sure you can get it in a timely manner.

At $20 for a drugstore product I would have liked to see a more high end type of packaging with a different closure. Yes, that's exactly what I don't like about it. I hate the way it opens and closes. I would have preferred a magnetic closure like the Naked 1. I also find the lack of a mirror a bit annoying. I think for that price it should at least have a pull out mirror similar to the NYX Nude on Nude kit.

Neither of these issues is enough for me to experience buyers remorse or delegate this palette to the back of my makeup drawer. Like I said in the begining, this is, in my opinion, the best eyeshadow palette on the high street. For $20 you get 12 richly pigmented shadows that are perfect for any look you are wanting to do. You could honestly skip purchasing both of the Naked Basics palettes and pick this one up!

Right! So, all in all, this palette is absolutely fab and a definite must have addition to every makeup collection. I can't see myself putting this sucker down anytime soon!
