Gung-ho for Gingham

It's no secret that I love gingham and J Crew would be my number one place to get it. I have a few other gingham tops that I've purchased from various shops, but my favorite ones are my JC's! I love the fabric and how well they stand up. Plus, the fit is outstanding! My favorite, though, is my Perfect Shirt in Mini-Gingham.

I decided to go comfortable for today's challenge so I through together neutral colours and comfortable fits. You've heard me rave about my love of all these so we can just go ahead and move onto the little shopping haul. ;)

We were so excited to get my husband's daughter this weekend since we haven't seen her in a few weeks! With the move coming up, we wanted to spend a day out and about as a family and, of course, I wanted to shop a bit! Our first stop was at Olive Garden. Now, while I usually enjoy their food, I was really disappointed. The new menu changes totally turned me off to them. I think they had a menu that was good an comfortable and them just changing it really through me off. Although, the Salted Caramel Tiramasu was superb!

Excuse the extremely tired eyes... still recovering from our trip. LOL

Next we hit the mall! I had a few things in mind that I was looking to purchase. I knew that I needed new candles and with the 2 for $22 and $10 off $30, that was my first stop! I picked up Lilac, French Lavender, and Springtime in Provence. I've had my eye on them for a while and boy did they knock my socks off! So far I'm not disappointed with these at all. The throw is amazing and so far I haven't experienced problems similar to the Sweet Shop line!

I also took my step-daughter and got her threaded for the 1st time! She loved it and I think her brows came out gorgeous! Mine on the other hand did not fair as well as hers. I was extremely disappointed and had to complain. I've been going to this boutique for years and they have never came out like this. But, what can you do? Once it's done... it's done. I will just let them grow out.... and never go back! lol

old navy bicycle shirt

After the failed brow experience, I needed a perk-me-up! So, I made a beeline for Old Navy and snapped up this gem for $10! I've had my eye on it for a while but wasn't thrilled with the almost see through fabric. But, I love the print and knew that I would regret not picking it up.

My last purchase was this bow bangle from Forever 21!! I've been wanting a bow bracelet for a while but wasn't thrilled with spending $60+ on one from Kate Spade. I don't mind splashing out on handbags and shoes, but costume jewelry I just can't bring myself to spend over twenty dollars on it. It's probably because I buy so much of it and so frequently that if I was to spend like that I would be completely broke. So, when I spied this bow bangle from F21 and saw the five dollar price tag, I knew it had to be mine!

Today I would classify as a win! Sure, my eyebrows are now pretty much bald, BUT... I did get to wear my favorite gingham, got my bicycle tee, had some great dessert and spent a day just having fun with the girls in my favorite environment! So, what about you? What are you up to this weekend? Let me know in the comments below!
