THE WORST MASCARA IN THE WORLD

If you have been following my blog for a while, you know, that I am a mascara junkie. I love my lashes long, bold, and stacked with volume. What can I say? I'm a product of the 90's! So, with a wish list as long as my leg when it comes to mascara delivery I'm a tough cookie to please.  With that said, I've been trying mascara for a long time and I've tried them all- high end and high street both. More often than not I'm left super disappointed on both spectrums of price points.

I generally find that most products fail to deliver on one point or another with most of them getting tossed into the so/so pile due to irritation, too wet of a formulation, bad brushes, and flaking. But, I have never completely hated a mascara. Until. Now. The Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara has now topped my list of worst mascaras ever!

I have long been a fan of Maybelline mascaras- especially their The Falsies and The Rocket. I think those are two wonderful and affordable high street mascaras for when you're in a pinch. But when it came to Lash Sensational {and all the hype about it across the beauty community} I'm really left wondering why it's so well loved and appluaded.

Now, I'm not even going to get in-depth of why I don't like it. I know that when it comes to my makeup reviews I'm very thorough, but with this mascara there is just too much wrong about it that we would be here all day. Instead, I'm just going to give you a nice long list and caution you very strongly against purchasing it!

1. The packaging is so slippery.

2. It's difficult to close it tightly as it doesn't seem to catch properly. Bacteria, ECK!

3. The formula is extremely wet.

4. Due to the wetness, the mascara doesn't dry very well.

5. There is literally no volume to this mascara.

6. Lashes look like thin ink pen strokes.

7. The wand is wobbly.

8. The curvature of this brush leaves way too much product on the brush.

9. Removal requires turpentine even for the non-waterproof version.

10. I missed the whole fan effect.

11. What length?

12. Flakes worse than a french pastry.

13. Smells like ink and chemicals.

14. Smudges like crazy.

I think that should about cover it. I think this mascara let me down on every single requirement that I have for a mascara. Usually I have at least one good thing to say about a product but with this one, I really can't. Wait, hold the phone, I like the colour pink on the package. I think that Maybelline attempted to dupe the Tarte Lights, Camera, Flashes mascara with the dual sided brush. If that was their intent they failed miserably.

If you plan on making a mascara purchase in the future, skip this one. Just walk right past it and purchase the tried and true Maybelline The Falsies, even better yet pick up CoverGirls Lash Blast. You won't be disappointed in either one!

As always, thanks for reading and I will see you soon! xoxo
