MINI WEEKEND MAKEUP HAUL

This past weekend was a bit of a dreary one. Florida has been in some type of wonky weather pattern that's cold one minute and then blistering hot the next. It's also doing this odd thing where the weather is sunny and clear one moment and then overcast for the next 6 hours. Now, coming from Upstate New York, I happen to love overcast skies as they tend to feel reflective and serene. But this weekend the weather was just off and it was affecting my equilibrium. So, to self medicate, I decided a quick trip to Macys for some goodies was just what the doctor ordered!

Lately I've been on the hunt for an all around good lipgloss that isn't too heavy with a sheer wash of colour to even out my lips. Having loved the first 5 shades from the Clarins Instant Light gloss I thought it would be a good idea to pick up a new colour from the Spring collection! I grabbed #07 in Toffee Pink Shimmer. It's the perfect your lips but better kind of colour.

If you haven't tried these glosses yet, you don't know what your missing. This stuff packs in moisture and shine without being too goopy or greasy. They also smell delicious with a subtle vanilla scent. They also have some pretty powerful lasting power. For $25 you really can't beat picking one or two of these up for the days that you need to add a bit of brightness to your life!

I don't know when in my life I thought to myself that it was a smart thing to pay almost $40 for a single eyeshadow. I mean goodness, do you know how avocados you can buy for $40, or how many loaves of bread... cups of coffee? I keep waiting for the guilt to set in on my purchases of these eyeshadows, but it never happens. I just adore them so stinking much! Every time I slip these on, I fall more in love and find myself already planning my next purchase before I even walk out of the store.

If you have no idea what I'm raving about, look away my darlings. Don't get sucked in to the beauty that is Chanel Illusion D'Ombre. If, like me, you have a need for effortless eyeshadow that looks stunning no matter how pressed for time you are then read on!

Chanel Illusion D'Ombre in New Moon

This stuff is amazeballs. The unique gel texture allows for a sheer wash of colour on the lids that can be built up to an incredible smoky eye. And let me tell you, when worn with just a quick swipe of your fingers or brush it brings instant light to your eyes. But when worn a bit thicker, oh my goodness. It's a full on Kiera Knightly smokey eye. It's unbelievably stunning. The shadows are long wearing and I've so far worn it for 14 hours without creasing, smudging, or transfer. And that's in Florida humidity! I know... shut the door!

If you are feeling in a bit of an eyeshadow slump, these are just the thing to bring you out of it. Personally, my favourite colour is Mirage and if you're looking to start collecting, that is a beautiful one to start with!
